Double Hung Windows

Double hung windows are generally operated using either ropes, pulleys and weights or Spiral balances which are tubes that are attached to the sides of the frames

Awning Windows.

Awning windows have a sash that is hinges at the top side of the frames.

They are hinged using hook hinges or butt hinges and operated using a chain winder. They can also be hinged using friction hinges.

Casement Windows

Casement Windows have a sash that is hinged on the side of the frame much like a door.

They are normally hinged using either butt hinges or friction hinges.

Sliding Window

Sliding window generally have 2 or more  sashes. One is normally fixed and the other sashes slide. The sliding sashes usually have a T track at the top and a set of roller at the bottom.
